Scott Vandergrift 5 Years Nick Jones Nick began employment with the City of Ocoee's Police Department on June 5, 2000 as Police Officer. Prior to becoming a Certified Police Officer, Nick volunteered his time as a Police Explorer for the City of Ocoee and Winter Garden. His current position is Police Officer for the Patrol Division. He also serves as a Field Training Officer, training our new Police Officers. Nick is a member of the Traffic Homicide Unit and Crisis Intervention Team. In year 2001, Nick was awarded Officer of the Month, he also received a Life Saving Award. Thank you for your years of service to the City and it's citizens. Along with his plaque,Nick will receive a City of Ocoee watch and $50.00 Gift Certificate to Wal-Mart. L SERVICE AWARD JUNE 21, 2005 Presented by: Mayor S. Scott Vandergrift 5 YEARS JASON GORBERG Jason began employment with the City of Ocoee as a Police Officer on June 5, 2000. During this time, he has served as a Patrol Officer where he worked on all assigned patrol shifts. In 2003, Jason was assigned to the Youth Service Division as a DARE Instructor and Coordinator to the Ocoee Police Explorer Program as well as a Coordinator for the Neighborhood Restorative Justice Program. In 2004, Jason transferred to the Training Officer position where he currently serves today. He is a member of the Crisis Intervention Team and an active Instructor for the Citizens Police Academy. He is also a Firearm, TASER, and Less Lethal Munitions Instructor. Furthermore, Jason is a FDLE high liability instructor and currently a firearms and general adjunct instructor for the Criminal Justice Institute at Valencia Community College. In his spare time, Jason enjoys spending time with his wife and dog. He enjoys traveling and is looking forward to his upcoming trip to Europe next year. Along with his plaque, Jason will receive a City of Ocoee watch and $50.00 Gift Certificate to Wal-Mart. L SERVICE AWARD JUNE 21, 2005 Presented by: Mayor S. Scott Vandergrift 5 YEARS BRIAN ROSS Brian was hired on May 15, 2000, as the Director of our Information Systems Department. His 25+years of computer experience has helped the City move forward with our technology needs. Brian has helped devise a replacement program to make sure the City's $1.4 million of telecommunications and computer systems are replaced periodically to avoid down-time from failures. He also devised a process to create commission agendas electronically so that our citizens can use the interne to review the same information as the Mayor and Commissioners. More recently, he has helped redesign the City's web site. Currently, Brian is helping the City reduce paper consumption by working on a project to digitally image records to reduce the need for paper and make it easier to find documents throughout the City. Along with his plaque, Brian will receive a City of Ocoee watch and $50.00 Gift Cr Certificate to Best Buy. L SERVICE AWARD (hp, JUNE 21, 2005 Presented by: Mayor S. Scott Vandergrift 15 YEARS JUDY HENRY Judy started working for the City of Ocoee on January 16, 1990 as a temporary clerk typist for the Public Works Department. In June 1990, her position became full- time. Moving right along, Judy was promoted in October 1990 to Administrative Secretary. Through the years she has outlasted 4 Public Works Directors and the same for City Managers. She helped implement curbside recycling, the automated garbage collection trucks and the franchising of the garbage and yard waste. Her knowledge about garbage, potholes, grass mowing, sign making and stormwater runoff has truly expanded more than she could ever imagine. Her day on the job is never the same, certainly not "routine." Her most positive aspect of her 15 year tenure, is the great people she works with and the daily contact with the citizens of Ocoee. Judy's current position is Administrative Assistant III. (se Judy served on the first Founder's Day Committee, has served on the General Employee's Pension Board as well as the Employee Committee. Thank you Judy for your continuous service to the City of Ocoee. Along with her plaque, Judy will receive $150.00 Gift Certificate to West Oaks Mall. L
