PROCLAMATION
'WHEREAS Immigrant women, Native American wouten, pioneer
women, women of the depression, women dun=g all
of our great wars, alad modern women have =,de a
grew contribution to our society, and
WHEREAS Women have been and continue ue to be a driving force for
social change in our country and throughout the
world, and
WHEREAS Tens of thousands of women tirelessly fought for arta
aaohieved the right to make weir voices heard through
the constitutional right for political equality, aama�.
WHEREAS Since 1992, there are amore women in the Senate, Hoarse
of Representatives, and stale and local offices than
in any previous time, and
WHEREAS We continue to work toward fie time drat we do not
marvel Haat a woman or a person of color is elected
to public office -- a time when it is not noteworthy
to mention gender or race when speaking of one's
accomplishments in politics, business, and other
endeavors, and
WHEREAS In 1995 we oelebrate fie 75th anniversary of women

us to this point women such as:

THEREFORE,I, S. Scott Vandergrift, Mayor of tie City of Ocoee, do
hereby proclaim tae month of March, 1996, to be
Women's History Montt in tete City of Ocoee;
and further, do declare that cal citizens recognize and honor the
coni illrutioats of women to our society-, our country, our stage, and our city,
and
I further exhort all 0112' citizens to become cognizant i and develop an

future endeavors.
