Re: James Mobley - Donations to Blood Bank
The City of Ocoee has had an active account with the Blood Bank for many years and when
the portable drive facilities have been available we have scheduled them in the City Hall
parking lot so that City residents and employees can donate blood with a minimum of effort.
No one is required to credit their donation to the City account when giving at our station;
however, many do. As a result our account stays healthy and we have had an opportunity to
authorize the transfer of units of blood to the entire City family when needed - including
elected officials, volunteer board members, employees, dependents and friends. We take
this service seriously and many of our employees take advantage of the opportunity to give.
Each time a donor gives blood, the Blood Bank requires that donor to wait 56 days before
donating again. One employee in particular, James Mobley, does not wait for the
convenience of the portable facility. He goes to the bank regularly, (every 56th day) and
three out of every four units are credited to the City account. The fourth time goes to his
family account. James has just completed his ninth gallon on Friday, November 17. His
reputation on the job is that of a dependable, faithful, loyal employee who consistently goes
beyond what is requested of him. That's good blood to be spreading around.
The small gift presented to James at this meeting is just a token of the appreciation we feel
for a person so dedicated and responsible.
