WHEREAS, dedicated telecommunicators daily serve the citizens of the United States by
answering their telephone calls for police, fire and emergency medical services
byu dispatching the appropriate assistance as quickly as possible; and
WHEREAS, professional telecommunicators work to improve the emergency response
capabilities of their communication systems through leadership and participation
in training programs and other activities provided by the Associated Public-Safety
Communications Officers, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the Associated Public-Safety Communications Officers, Inc., an organization of
more than 10,000 people, has set aside the second week in April to recognize
telecommunicators and their crucial role in the protection of life and property;
and
WHEREAS, citizens of the city of ocoee owe a debt of gratitude to those telecommunicators
who faithfully serve them around the clock providing a life-line to emergency and
protective services,

I, S. Scott Vandergrift, Mayor of the City of Ocoee, do hereby
proclaim the week of April 11 - 17.1993, as
"NATIONAL TELECOMMUNICATORS WEEK"
in the City of Ocoee, Florida in honor and recognition of our municipality's telecommunicators
and the vital contributions they make to the safety and well-being of our citizens.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I hereunto have set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of
Ocoee to be affixed this 6th day of April, 1993.
