RE: PAYMENT OF RETAINER -JUAREZ & ASSOCIATION
As the Legislative session for 1999 nears, it is again time to pay our share of the costs
associated with our Legislative Lobbyist Juarez & Associates for the 1999 year.
Attached is a letter from the City of Apopka that describes our contribution to this joint
effort by the three cities. Our cost is $11,664. We currently have $14,800.00 budget in
our current FY-98-99 budget for this service.
Staff recommends approval of these funds for this fiscal year.
Respectfully sub teed,

Dear Hollis:
The Legislative Retainer Agreement with Juarez and Associates calls for a$30,000 fee to be paid
for the 1999 legislative session. As you are aware Mr. Juarez will be responsible for updating the
Cities of Ocoee, Winter Garden, and Apopka periodically through December 31, 1999 with various
reports and attending a West Orange Summit Meeting at the end of the legislative session.
As in the past the City of Apopka will pay the fee up front. It is my understanding that the Cities
of Ocoee and Winter Garden are to send us a prorated amount based on population. According to
our information the population of the three cities are: Ocoee - 21,653; Winter Garden - 12,875; and
Apopka-21,165. The prorated share to the three cities becomes Ocoee- $11,664; Winter Garden -
$6,935; and Apopka- $11,401.
Please accept this letter as your invoice for your share of the above costs. If you have any questions,
you can reach me at 889-1725. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
Sincerely,
