Proclamation

WHEREAS, Christian Service Center, the successful union of private business, churches and
volunteers through its seven programs: Family and Emergency Services,
Marriage and Family Therapy Center, Fresh Start, Daily Bread, Hotel Ministry,
Alzheimer's Respite, Mothers Helping Mothers, has served those in need in our
community for the past twenty-five years; and
WHEREAS, Christian Service Center Ocoee Daily Bread has fed the homeless and hungry in
the West Orange Community for the past five years.
WHEREAS, Christian Service Center Mothers Helping Mothers has helped low-income
mothers to develop self-esteem, spirituality, and educational and vocational self-
sufficiency.
WHEREAS, Christian Service Center is a reflection of the heart of Central Florida, feeding
the body and soul of the homeless through the cooperation, generosity and will
of the people of this community; and
WHEREAS, Christian Service Center serves all, regardless of race, creed or religious
affiliation: and
WHEREAS, this month Christian Service Center will commemorate its twenty-fifth
anniversary;
now Jhere/ore: I, S. Scott Vandergrift, Mayor of the City of Ocoee, hereby do
proclaim the month of June, 1996, as
"CHRISTIAN SERVICE CENTER MONTH"
in the City of Ocoee, Florida.
The Christian Service Center is a community social service agency organized by the
Christian Churches of Central Florida to accomplish together what cannot be done alone by
helping people help themselves...
