MEMORANDUM
To: The Honorable Mayor and City Commission
From: Jean Grafton, City Clerk
Date: June 27, 1996
Re: Proclamation for Jerusalem Park
In July 1994 Israel's Consul General Hermon wrote to Mayor Vandergrift asking that the City
of Ocoee consider observing Jerusalem's 3000 year anniversary by taking some official action
in designating a street, square or monument in the name of Jerusalem for a period of time during
1996. During regular session on September 6, 1994, Commission agreed to recognize the
occasion by naming a park chosen by staff Jerusalem Park for a month during 1996, and
Central Park on Flewelling Drive was chosen.
