Mr. Murphy served since October 1996 and had just been reappointed last October for a term to expire September 30, 2000. Former Mayor Tom Ison has consented to serve should you wish to appoint him. RECOMMENDATION That the Honorable Mayor and City Commission appoint Mr. Ison to complete the term left vacant by Mr. Murphy's resignation. As you may know, I have recently taken the position as Chief of Staff to Orange County Chairman Mel Martinez and, consequently, I do not believe that I will be able to dedicate the time and attention to my role as a trustee that is necessary to fulfill my responsibilities to the Board. I have enjoyed working with you and all the other members of the Board and I believe we have made a positive, significant difference in the overall stability of the Employees' Retirement Trust Fund.
