Subject: Mid-Year Purchase of Four Police Vehicles
Background Summary:
The City of Ocoee Police Department desires to purchase three patrol vehicles and one community
service aide vehicle for $152,000 funded from police impact fees. Three new police officers and a
community service aide were added to the current budget, have been hired, and vehicles are needed.
Utilizing existing impact funds, the vehicles will be purchased using the current Florida Sheriffs
Association Purchasing Contract pricing:
• 3 — Marked Police Utility Vehicles at a cost of $40,000 each. (New)
• 1 — Community Service Aide Utility Vehicle @ $32,000 (New)
Issue:
Should the Honorable Mayor and Board of City Commissioners approve the purchase of three police
vehicles and one community service aide vehicle for the Police Department utilizing police impact fees?
Recommendations:
Staff recommends the Honorable Mayor and Board of City Commissioners approve the purchase of
three police vehicles and one community service aide vehicle for the Police Department.
Financial Impact:
The purchase of these vehicles will utilize $152,000 from police impact fees. There is sufficient
funding to cover this expenditure without any impact to the Department's current budget.
