The City's current code reads, "The parking of commercial vehicles on public streets and road rights -of -way within any residential zoned district, including residential planned unit developments, as established by the Land Development Code u for the City, shall be. prohibited, except for loading purposes or as otherwise expressly permitted by the Land Development Code." The Police Department has the ability to properly enforce the parking of commercial vehicles within residential zones, however, further direction is required on the commercial or mixed -use zones. Additionally, the number of outstanding fines for the last year is 155 and at 62 year-to-date. Currently, the City has no mechanism for collecting these fines. Staff is seeking direction on whether to seek registration holds and/or collections for personal vehicles and/or commercial vehicles. Issue: Do the Honorable Mayor and Board of City Commissioners desire to allow the parking of commercial vehicles, within commercial or mixed -use zoned districts? Additionally, direction on how to address unpaid fines from personal and commercial vehicle parking violations. Recommendations: Staff will take direction from the Honorable Mayor and Commission and update the existing ordinance to reflect their decision.
