HomeMy WebLinkAboutII (C) Proclamation - National Telecommunicators Week Agenda 4-02-2002 Item II C o` Ocoee o orf* 0 GOOD Proclamation WHEREAS, dedicated public safety telecommunicators daily serve the citizens of the United States by answering their telephone and processing 9-1-1 calls for police,fire,and emergency medical services and dispatching the appropriate assistance as quickly as possible;and WHEREAS, public safety telecommunicators strive to improve the emergency response capabilities of their communication systems through leadership and participation in training programs and other activities provided through the Association of Public Safety Communications Officers,and other agencies;and WHEREAS, the Congress of The United States,has set aside the second week in April to recognize public safety telecommunicators and their crucial role in the protection of life and property;and WHEREAS, citizens of the City of Ocoee owe a debt of gratitude to the public safety telecommunicators who faithfully serve them around the clock providing a life-line to emergency and protective services, THEREFORE: I,S. Scott Vandergrift,Mayor of the City of Ocoee,do hereby proclaim the week of April 14-20,2002 as "NATIONAL TELECOMMUNICATORS WEEK" in the City of Ocoee,Florida in honor and recognition of our municipality's public safety telecommuniciators and the vital contributions they make to the safety and well-being of our citizens.
