Re: Telecommunicator of the Month Award presentation
It is with great pride that I announce the name of our"Telecommunicator of the Month" for
February 2002.
In a meeting with Lt. Seaver, Asst. Chief Firstner and myself last week, nominations were
reviewed and by a unanimous decision Communications Officer Kim DeLoach has been chosen
as the February Telecommunicator of the Month.
During her tenure with the communications department Kim has been involved in several
projects that benefit our department. Kim has worked as an acting supervisor covering times
when supervisors were unable to. Kim has functioned as a Terminal Agency Coordinating
Officer assisting Supervisor White with the National Crime Information Center and Florida
Crime Information Center information systems, and the Geographical Information System
information systems. Kim volunteered to attend the Orange County Sheriffs Office train the
trainer program for the new county video information retrieval system, and then returned to train
our department personnel as well as the members of Police Department Criminal Investigations
Division team. Kim has been directly involved in all of our Teletype training as well.
Kim is one of the best technical communications officers I have had to pleasure of working with.
She has handled numerous situations with multiple agencies in a calm and efficient manner,
even to the point of handling a situation that another agency was unable to handle, and in a way
that made the other agency thankful for the help. Kim has always taken direct and personal pride
in her position as a communications officer. Kim maintains a personal ownership in the job she
performs, no matter which position she is assigned and she ensures that her job is done to the
absolute best of her ability. Every firefighter and police officer is able to trust that when they are
on the job and Kim is behind the radio they have everything they need from the Communications
Department to complete their assignments efficiently and most importantly safely.
Please join me in congratulating Kim in this very worthy accomplishment!!!! Way to go Kim!
Congratulations on a job very well done.
