HomeMy WebLinkAboutII (A2) Proclamation- Loyalty Day May 1, 1996 AGENDA 4-16-96 Item II A 2 Ocoee pz-j � o 4'4Of GdO0`: Proclamation WHEREAS, The citizens of this City are extremely proud of this nations more than 200 year heritage of freedom and are loyal to the ideals, traditions and institutions which have made our nation so great; and WHEREAS, Their obvious dedication to our way of life is indicative of a strong continued desire to preserve the priceless American heritage; and WHEREAS, they will be proud to stand up and publicly declare their determination toward actively and positively safeguarding our freedoms against any foreign or domestic enemies. NOW, THEREFORE, I, S. Scott Vandergrift, Mayor of the City of Ocoee, hereby call upon all my fellow citizens to take full advantage of the special occasion known as Loyalty Day, celebrated annually throughout the nation on the first day of May, as an incentive for every true American to reaffirm his and her love of Flag and Country, and I urge that all individuals, schools, churches, organizations, business establishments and homes within my official jurisdiction to display proudly the Flag of the United States of America and participate in public patriotic Loyalty Day activities which are to be co-sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and its Ladies Auxiliary, and others, on LOYALTY DAY, May 1, 1996. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I hereby have caused my hand and the Seal of the City of Ocoee, Florida, to be affixed on this sixteenth day of April, 1996. S. Scott Vandergrift, Mayor
