THE COMMUNICATIONS CENTER
STAFF REPORT
ISSUE
Should the Honorable Mayor and Board of City Commissioners approve
using up to $3 ,500 to purchase a computer and designed software
for the Communications Center of the Ocoee Police Department.
BACKGROUND
The Communications Center of the Ocoee Police Department is in need
of a more automated system in order to reduce duplication of efforts
and increase efficiency. The computer system needs to automate
complaint cards, fire service reports, radio logs , officers on call
and location, monthly statistics , etc.
DISCUSSION
The Law Enforcement Trust Fund has grown with a large percentage
of the money coming from the Police Department' s seizures. As you
are aware, these funds can only be used for new programs or law
enforcement expenditures. This Capital Improvement and new program
meets the requirement for expenditures from the Forfeiture Fund
to be paid for from Account # 601-521-6400.
