SUBJECT: Proposed Plat - West Oaks Towne Center
Attached for your review and action is a proposed two lot subdivision plat for the
property located in the northeast corner of Clarke Road and State Road 50.
The property is zoned C-2, and the developer intends for the anchor tenant to be Best
Buy.
The plat has been reviewed by city staff, by the City Attorney and the City Surveyor.
With the exceptions noted below, all review comments have been addressed.
At the time this staff report was prepared, there had not been a closing of the sale of
the property, so the copy of the plat in your packets contains several blank signature
lines. The developer intends to have closed the property sale transaction prior to the
February 15, 2000 City Commission meeting.
This was discussed with the City Attorney, and he agreed that it was acceptable to
present the plat to you in this form. He indicated that your approval of the plat should
be conditioned upon receipt of (1) a bond in form and amount acceptable to the city
and (2) updated title information acceptable to the city, reflecting the completion of the
property sale.
I recommend that the City Commission authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute
the plat of West Oaks Towne Center, subject to execution of the plat and all related
documents by the owner(s) of the property, and subject to receipt of a bond and
updated title information, both acceptable to the City.
