Dear Friends and Business Associates:
The WINTER GARDEN ELKS are now planning their annual Charity Ball. Each year at this time we have a
fund raiser event to benefit our state project, the Florida Elks Children's Therapy Services. Since 1933 the Elks
of Florida have dedicated themselves to serving children with special needs.
The Florida Elks Children's Therapy Services provides in-home physical and occupational therapy to the
children of Florida. Physical Therapy is the profession concerned with the prevention of disability, alleviation of
pain and restoration of function and mobility. Occupational Therapy is the profession concerned with assisting
to be more functional and independent in their play, schoolwork, and daily living skills. Patients are cared for
until the therapy goals are meet and/or the child's need can best be meet in another way. Much time and effort is
necessary to make this process a smooth transition for the child and family.
This rehabilitation is necessary to be rendered in the home because of the absence of services locally, or because
of the patient being medically infirmed at home. Priority is given to children who do not have ready access to
therapy as a result of financial considerations. The therapist which render these services are employed by the
Florida Elks and are licensed to practice by the State of Florida.
Our goal is to provide physical and occupational therapy to the children of Florida who do not have easy access
to these services. Our services are provided in the patient's home without regard to the ability to pay for such
services.
Any and all contributions are always appreciated, and many of you have been loyal and supportive sponsors
each year. A "Special Thanks" goes out to all of you.
All our sponsors names will be published in an ad in the West Orange Times following the Charity Ball. The
ELKS CHARITY BALL will be held Saturday,March 25th starting at 7 p.m. at the Elks Lodge in Winter
Garden. Tickets for the event are only $12.50 per person featuring a prime rib dinner. Our awards ceremony
follows and there will be live music for your listening and dancing pleasure until 1 a.m.
Please detach the lower portion and return with your contribution by March 20th, so that your donation can be
acknowledged in our special ad. In.addition, all sponsors contribution of$25.00 or more will receive a special
framed acknowledgment of appreciation.
