MEMORANDUM
TO: The Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners
FROM: Ron Strosnider,Fire Chief,
DATE: August 11, 1997
RE: TOWING OF VEHICLES IN FIRE LANES
Parking tickets have not proven a deterrent to violators. We feel that if certain streets and alleys were
marked Fire Lane, No Parking and Tow-away Zones in conjunction with Chapter 168-3.1 that violators
would reconsider parking in these zones. The attached Ordinance allows the City the right to tow vehicles
on City streets and highways designated as Fire Lanes. This Ordinance does not apply to private property.
The towing of vehicles in these zones would be in accordance with Chapter 165-9 of the City of Ocoee
Code.
