BACKGROUND: Approval was granted on August 19, 1997, by the City Commission to purchase two Dixie Chopper mowers using $14,000 in surplus funds from the procurement of a slope mower. These mowers have since been discontinued and replaced with a slightly increased engine size and have increased in price from $7,000 to $7,145 each or$14, 290 total. H& M Mower Sales & Services, Inc. successfully provided a lower quote of$14,290. Gravely of Orlando, Inc. submitted a quote of $15,319 and the third vendor, Oveido Mower, did not respond to our request for quotes. - RECOMMENDATIONS Staff requests permission to waive the bid process and purchase the two Dixie Chopper mowers from H & M Mower Sales and Services, Inc. for$14,290.
