Home, AICP, Principal PlannerAPP SUBJECT: Request for Fee Waivers for Orange County Public Schools Orange County Public Schools has filed an Annexation and Rezoning application and intends to submit Public Building and Site Plan Applications to permit them to eventually build an elementary school on the Dye/ Christensen property together with a City Park. Orange County Public Schools has requested that the City Commission waive the required flat fees (an estimated $3,750) and other related fees per the attached letter. In the past, the City Commission has granted fee waivers for annexations, rezonings and special exceptions which were initiated by church, government, and non-profit sponsors. This is a fairly common practice by other local governments, although the City's Land Development Code does not specifically address such waivers. Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners approve a wavier of all annexation, rezoning, public building, and site plan fees related to the proposed Orange County Public Schools applications for the Dye/Christensen properties.
