WHEREAS, the management of information is increasingly critical to the industry, business
and government agency, and the systematic creation, distribution, storage and
retrieval of records are of critical importance to the continued and efficient
operation of any good organization; and
WHEREAS, organizations that continue to excel are those that recognize information as a
major resource and srrucmre it as effectively as they do other assets; and
WHEREAS, constantly changing technologies provide an array of information storage media
from paper to electronic storage that require a concerted effort to assure proper
retention and management; and
WHEREAS, the Association of Records Managers and Administrators(ARMA, International)
was founded to promote professionalism and education in Records and
Information Management, and provide a tomtit for the exchange of information
and establishment of standards within records management practices; and
WHEREAS, ARMA, International is sponsoring National Records and Information
Management Week, March 31 through April 4, 1997,
e/IO(eb 37seteber, I, Scott Vandergrift, Mayor of the City of Ocoee, do hereby proclaim
March 31 through April 4, 1997 as:
NATIONAL RECORDS AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT WEEK
in the City of Ocoee, and urge all citizens of our community to recognize this special
occasion.
