5 YEARS STEPHEN L. BERRY
On August 19, 1992 Stephen L. Berry was hired as a Refuse Collector on a Part-Time
Temporary basis. We all know him as"Steve"and have found him to be very respectful
of everyone he encounters. On October 15, 1992, Steve transferred to a Laborer position
and continued on his Part-Time Temporary status. Steve got his first chance on January
7, 1993 as Full Time employee and became a Refuse Collector. On June 10, 1993 he
accepted a transfer to the Streets Department as a Laborer and on April 18, 1994 he bid
on a position in the Utility Department and was promoted to a Utility Service Worker I.
On June 6, 1996 he received another promotion to the position of Equipment Operator II
within the Utility Department. Most recently he bid on a Trainee position within the
Utility Department as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. Steve is now working on
his certifications required to maintain that position. Steve is another example of our
commitment to our employees in pursuit of career development.
Along with a City watch and a plaque, Steve will receive a gift certificate in the amount
of$50.00 to spend at"Sears"in the West Oaks Mall.

10 YEARS JERRY R.BOLTON
On December 31, 1987, Jerry Bolton was hired by the City to work for the Utility
Department as Wastewater Operator with a"C"license. On December 31, 1991 Jerry
became a Lift Station Mechanic and that is what he continues to do. Jerry makes sure
that all the Lift Stations are always up and running. Jerry is called out for any problems
that may arise. If these stations go down, it can certainly turn into a mess.
Along with his plaque, Jerry will receive a gift certificate in the amount of$100.00 to
spend at 'ears" in the West Oaks Mall.

10 YEARS FRED H. OSTRANDER

On December 31, 1987, Fred Ostrander was hired by the City Utility Department as a
Wastewater Lead Operator. On October 1, 1989 Fred became a Chief Plant Operator.
The Utility Department went through a restructure on February 5, 1991 and Fred was
given a new title which made him a Chief Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. Along
with this new title came additional responsibilities which involved supervising all of the
licensed operators at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Fred enjoys his job out at the plant
and looks forward to a long career with the City.
Along with his plaque,Fred will receive a gift certificate in the amount of$100.00 to
spend at"Eddie Bauer" in the West Oaks Mall.

10 YEARS BRUCE W. COMBS
On December 9, 1987, Bruce Combs was hired by the City as a Police Officer for our
Police Department. Bruce came to the City with an Associate of Science degree from
Valencia Community College. We hope that Bruce will pursue his Bachelors Degree
through the City Education Incentive Program. On June 9, 1994, Bruce was assigned to
the Detective Division as a Detective and on January 22, 1996 Bruce was promoted to
Sergeant and is now back on road patrol.
Along with his plaque, Bruce will receive a gift certificate in the mount of$100.00 to
spend at"Dillards" in the West Oaks Mall.

10 YEARS KIM KIRKLAND
On December 3, 1997, Kim Kirkland began her career with the Ocoee Police Department
as a Police Officer. Kim enjoys her work as a Police Officer and has varied assignments
through the years. Kim has watched the department grow and has grown with the
Department. Kim is a pleasant individual and is respectful to all Citizens she comes in
contact with.
Along with her plaque, Kim will receive a gift certificate in the amount of$100.00 to
spend at J. C. Penny at the West Oaks Mall.
