BACKGROUND: A request to waive the bid process for the reconstruction of the Central Park Football Field was approved at the June 3, 1997 Commission Meeting due to the limited time available before football season. Five quotes have been received and they are as follows. Varsity Courts, $26,377; Woerncr Sports Turf, $40,896; Laserturf, $45,160; Quality Grassing, $46,830; Pike Creek Turf, $$25,872 (incomplete quote) RECOMMENDATION• Pursuant to the Commission approval, Staff recommends Woerner Sports Turf International for the sum of$40,896. Although Varsity Courts and Pike Creek Turf were lower they were incomplete. Varsity Courts did not provide an alternative fumigation quote and Pikes Creek did not respond on the requested form and is for sod only. Because of the cost of fumigation we will pre-treat the field in house.
