Re: STAFF REPORT - EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT GRANT
On February 9, 1998 we were notified of the final approval of award for the
competitive grant application in the amount of $21,564.00. Pursuant to Chapter
9G-19.010(2) Florida Administrative Code, the City of Ocoee is required to inform
the Department of Community Affairs in writing within 21 days of their intent to
accept or deny the grant award.
At this time we are requesting the City Commission to approve and accept the grant
award offer and approve the subsequent contract, pending review by the City
Attorney.

Dear Mr. Reistner:
Pursuant to Chapter 9G-19.009(2) Florida Administrative Code, the Department of
Community Affairs is hereby transmitting the official final scores for the Emergency
Management Preparedness and Assistance (EMPA) Competitive Grant proposals which were
initially scored in December 1997. The appeals period has closed, and although two appeals
were filed, no score changes resulted. The initial scores are now considered final.
We are pleased to inform you that subject to final legal review, your competitive grant
application under the Emergency Management Preparedness and Assistance Grant Program has
been approved for an award in the amount of$21,564. .
Pursuant to administrative rule, this office must receive notification within twenty-one
(21) days from the receipt of this offer indicating acceptance or rejection of this award. This
notification must be in writing and sent to the attention of Suzanne Adams, Manager, Emergency
Management Preparedness and Assistance Grants. Acceptance letters must be postmarked
within twenty-one (21) days of receipt of this offer letter. In compliance with Chapter
9G-19.010(2) Florida Administrative Code, only the chief executive officer or the .
appropriate governing body, if a local government, may accept this award. Failure to accept
this award within this timeframe will constitute a waiver of the award.

Upon receipt of written acceptance of this award, we will complete and forward a
contractual agreement for your execution. Your contract will begin.on the date of final execution
by the Department and extend through March 31, 1999. Do not incur any expenditures
relating to this award until final execution of the contract; such expenditures cannot be
reimbursed because they are not within the contracted timeframe.
