Proclamation
WHEREAS, A delegation of officials from the Central American country of El Salvador are
visiting our city, and
WHEREAS, This delegation represents COMURES, the Salvadoran Municipal Corporation,
representing all the municipalities in El Salvador, and
WHEREAS, The delegation is here in Ococe to study our city government, and
WHEREAS, They are here as a part of an exchange program with the Florida League of Cities and the
Florida City/County Management Association, and
WHEREAS, The exchange is part of a program called the "Resource Cities Program;' and
WHEREAS, The International City/ County Management Association manages the program that is
funded by the U.S. Agency for international Development(USAID), and
WHEREAS, The focus of this partnership is on association development, the delegation will be
looking at how we deal with issues such as advocacy, ethics, and conflict resolution,
and
WHEREAS, The members of the delegation include, Manuel de Jesus Aguilar, Finance Director
COMURES, Marco Antonio Funes, Mayor, Olocuilta, President of Commission on
Political Affairs COMURES, Carlos Francisco Rugamas Contreras, Mayor El Porvenir,
President Santa Ana Department Council of Mayors, Rigoberto Trinidad, First Secretary
COMURES, Maria Margarita Alfaro Bulle, Coordinator, Communications and Inter-
Institutional Relations COMURES are welcome.
NOW THEREFORE, 1, S. Scott Vandergrift, Mayor of the City of Ocoee, Florida, proclaim:
That all privileges of being a citizen of Ocoee be extended to these members of COMURES from El
Salvador, and for this day they be made Honorary citizens of Ocoee, Florida.
AND FURTHER, That we extend the warmest welcome to our guests and pledge to make their
stay in Ocoee rewarding and fruitful for them. They should make themselves at home in our
community and experience pleasure in being here.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Ocoee,
Florida to be affixed this 2011i day of April, 1999.
