Boy Scout Troop 198 Eagle Award Ceremony
Honoring
Justin Barrett and Randy Ketterman
and
Boy Scout Troop 198 Court of Honor
For the Recognition of
Advancements and Achievements
June rz./ 1999
I would like to thank everyone involved in helping me to become a Eagle
Scout. My parents who gave me the encouragement to achieve my goals. The
teachers at school who gave me the inspiration to follow thru on my
education. The adult leaders who gave of their time and knowledge, and to
my fellow scouts in Troop 198 who I hope can all become Eagles. A special
thanks to the city of Winter Garden who allowed me to do a dream of mine to
create a project in the memory of my Grandparents.
Thanks to everyone

I would like to express my gratitude for all of the help and support I received
during my journey to Eagle Scout. Scouting has given me many opportunities to grow
• and learn. and I also made many friends alone the way. Without the Scoutmasters, fellow
scouts and my family I would not be an Eagle Scout today. I would also like to take this
opportunity to thank the Women's Club of Ocoee for allowing me to build the handicap
ramp as my Eagle'project.
Sincerely.
Justin Barrett

ANNOUNCEMENTS
On Wednesday, lune r6th, there will be no regular scout meeting.
Instead, there will be a planning meeting for adult leaders and troop
patrol leaders. The next regular scout meeting will be on June z3rd.
We were forced to cancel our one day canoe trip down the Rock
Springs run on May a9th. We will be a new date for this canoeing
exercise at the June r6th planning meeting.
Next Saturday, June Toth, the troop will be holding the second of
its rummage sales at the Lions' Club. We need every scout available to
be at the Lions' Club by 7 am that morning to unload our 'merchandise.'
Once the sale is set up the boys will be going to Starke lake to help in the
city's cleanup campaign. We are looking for parents to help us with our
sale while the scouts are busy. Please feel free to join us!
Summer Camp is almost upon us. Before we leave it is critical that
we have a notarized permission slip and a medical form for everyone who
is making the trip, adults as well as scouts. Also, since we paid for our
plane tickets, Troop r98's bank account is almost empty. If you have not
made your final payments for summer camp, please get the money to Mr.
Hershaw as soon as possible.
THANK you
To all chose parents who helped us so much with our fundraising for
this year, with special thanks for Ms. Carberry and Mr. and Mrs. Jordan.

A SCOUT l5 REVERENT
Oh Great Spirit,
Whose voice l hear in the winds,
And whose breath gives fife to all the world,
Hear me! l am small and weak, l need your
strength and wisdom.
Let me walk in beauty, and make my eyes
ever behold the red and purple sunset.
Make my hands respect the things you have made
and my ears sharp to hear your voice.
Make me wise so that l may understand the things
you have taught my people.
Let me learn the lessons you have hidden
in every leaf and rock.
l seek strength, not to be greater than my
Brother, but to fight my greatest enemy,
Myself.
Make me always ready to come to you with
clean hands and straight eyes.
So when life fades, as the fading sunset,
My spirit may come to you without shame.
