At that time I will present my Team Roster's and schedules for the fall with the hope of acquiring some field playing time on the home dates on our schedule.The thirteen and under team that we started this year is primarily(10 Players)made up of kids that live in Ocoee with that in mind we hope to be able to make the Ocoee Jr/Sr field our home site for games.The team is looking forward to the representing the future of the young players that will come out of the Ocoee community.Our organization takes pride in the fact that we teach the kids good sportsmanship and place emphasis on grades and staying in school.Thanks for allowing us to attend this meeting and placing us on the agenda. 2__L.3.4?D Gordon R.Wright West Orlando Warriors Director of Operations West Orlando 8/30/99 Warriors History: 1998—Present The Winter Garden Warrior's,as they were originally called formed in the fall of 1998,a draft was held in January of 1999 and a thirteen and under Florida Amateur Athletic Union team was established.The Warrior's finished the season ranked 28`h in the State,and played in Plant City for the qualifier to become eligible to play in the National Championship,held in Tennessee but was eliminated in round robin play.The Warrior's had a wonderful season and returned this fall with eleven of the original twelve players returning for the fall season.That in itself speaks volumes for the coaching staff and the parents associated with the organization. The Team plays under the Sunshine Baseball Club network,this network of clubs represents Florida AAU and is owned and operated by Chet Lemons and his wife Gigi. Every year at the start of each season the Sunshine Baseball Club hosts a breakfast where all of the Managers and Coaches meet and discuss the rules and develop their schedules for the up and coming season.The next scheduled meeting will take place August 21st 1999 for the fall season. The Winter Garden Warrior's adopted a new name for the club this year (West Orlando Warriors)and has expanded the age divisions to include the following: 11 and under,13 and under, 14 and under and 15 and under.The addition of the new teams will allow the West Orlando Area to develop our talent from eleven all the way to High School. We are excited about the potential of our Club and are happy to announce the new board of directors to you. As an organization we will try to play as many games in the Orlando/Apopka area as possible,this will minimize the travel our parents will have to endure.Every age group will play in one tournament this fall. The kids are going to have great time and become a very tight knit team. The parents are a very important part of this organization and will be required to help with our fundraisers and team parties and events as much as their schedules will permit.If at any time our parents need to contact the board please feel free to call us,we expect this to be a class organization and that requires everyone to do their part.
