A tentative listing was given to all departments allowing an opportunity for them to request any items that would meet that department's needs. There were no requests from the departments for any of the items this year. Item number 136; (1,200) water meters will be deleted from the list after being declared surplus. The City will then sell the meters as scrap back to the manufacturer, Sensus Technologies, and the proceeds will be returned to the Water/Wastewater Fund. Item numbers 150 - 171; the retired City telephone system may also be deleted from the list after being declared surplus. Staff is currently exploring two (2) options for disposal of the telephones: 1) Selling the telephones to Sprint, or 2) Selling them to another governmental entity. The Surplus Auction will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2000 at 9:00 a.m. at the Public Works Facility located at 370 Enterprise Street, unless directed otherwise by the City Commission. This will allow ample time for the Surplus Auction to be advertised.
