RE: Gibbs & Register Sidewalk Contract
ISSUE:
Should the Honorable Mayor and Board of City Commissioners approve extending the
Gibbs & Register's sidewalk contract to September 30, 2001?
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION:
Gibbs & Register has agreed to hold their price for sidewalk repair, replacement, and
installation to the same as in their current contract (copy of agreement letter attached).
This contract extension will allow Public Works the flexibility to use the contractor or in
house personnel as the work load and situation warrants. This year's streets budget
contains $40,000 for sidewalk maintenance (5303) and $49,920 for new sidewalk
construction (6303).
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff respectfully requests the Honorable Mayor and Board of City Commissioners
approve extending Gibbs & Registers contract to September 30, 2001.
