BACKGROUND & DISCUSSION: The funding sources for this project are a FRDAP Grant (Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program) in the amount of$150,000, and the Capital Improvement Bond Issue. The bid was advertised on March 11, 2001, and publicly opened on April 17, 2001. Responses were received from the following companies: 1) Aquamarine Swimming Pool Inc. $717,900 2) Pool People Commercial $759,900 3) Weller Pool Constructors, Inc. $626,500 Attached is a copy of Weller Pool Constructors' bid along with the bid tabulation sheet, for your review. Copies of all bids are available in the Finance Department for your review. The bids were reviewed by the Public Works and Finance Departments. Staff recommends awarding this bid to Weller Pool Constructors, Inc. as the most responsive and responsible bidder, per the attached memo from Bob Smith, Public Works Director. STAFF RECOMMENDATION It respectfully is recommended that the City Commission award Bid #01-05 to Weller Pool Constructors Inc., and authorize execution of the agreement between the City and Welle =..
