(407)905-3100 NANCY J.PARKER OF 0000 ACTING CITY MANAGER JIM GLEASON MEMORANDUM DATE: April 4, 2001 TO: The Honorable Mayor and Board of City Commissioners FROM: James W. Shira, P.E., City Engineer/Utilities Directorit SUBJECT: Reclaimed Water Agreement with Consery II Attached for your review and approval is a proposed Agreement between the City of Ocoee, the City of Orlando and Orange County. Although you received 53 pages of information in your packet, the meat of the Agreement is contained in the first 7 pages. The balance is mostly backup information related to existing permits held by Consery II. The Agreement covers the delivery of reclaimed water by Orlando and Orange County acting as Consery II, to the City of Ocoee. This agreement is needed in order for us to obtain reclaimed water from the Consery II transmission main that runs along Moore and Roberson Roads. The Maguire Road widening project includes construction of a reclaimed water main along Maguire Road that is to be connected to the Consery II main. This is under construction now, in anticipation of the execution of this agreement. The Agreement is for an initial term of ten years, and describes the manner in which Ocoee is to receive and distribute reclaimed water from the Consery II supply. There is a schedule of connections attached to the Agreement as Exhibit B, which indicates Ocoee's anticipated demand on the Consery II system over the next several years. Once approved by Ocoee, this Agreement will go before the Orange County Commission and Orlando City Council for their approval. The Agreement has been reviewed by the City Attorney and has been approved as to form and legality. We are currently looking at sites for a storage and pumping facility so that we can begin using this reclaimed water as soon as possible. I recommend that the City Commission authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute this WATER CONSERV II AGREEMENT FOR THE DELIVERY AND USE OF RECLAIMED WATER. Attachment
