Naming of New Park
BACKGROUND:
As directed by the City Commission at its December 18, 2001 meeting, Staff conducted a contest
to gather potential names for the new park that will be located cast of Maguire Road and directly
north of the Windsor Landings subdivision.
DISCUSSION:
The City sent out information about the contest to the schools, local newspapers, and published it
on the City's website.
The City recorded a total of 110 responses, and some of these were the same. There was a total
of 89 different names gathered for the contest.
Attached, please find a copy of the different names submitted to name the park_ This attachment
provides information that indicates which name was chosen more than once by more than one
entry

RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the Commission review these potential park names and choose a name for
the 10 acre park which is located east of Maguire Road and north of the Windsor Landings
subdivision.
