48th ANNUAL KUMQUAT BOWL
SPONSORED BY:
The KIWANIS CLUB OF NORTH ORLANDO, INC.
The Kiwanis Club of North Orlando has sponsored the Kumquat Bowl since 1953.
Until 1987, it was the Orange County Junior High Championship Football Game. It was
also the host to champion teams, of several YMCA leagues, the Boys Club and the City
Recreation League.
With the transition from Junior High to Middle Schools in 1987, and the prohibition
of interscholastic football in Orange County Middle Schools, the Kumquat Bowl became a
High School Invitational game between the Metro Conference runner-up and a team
selected from within the greater Central Florida area.
The 1993 Kumquat Bowl marked the return to championship football games for the
Mid-Florida Pop Warner League.
The Kiwanis Club of North Orlando is proud of its 48-year sponsorship of the
Kumquat Bowl and looks forward to carrying the tradition for many years. We thank the
community for its continued support. The Kumquat Bowl proceeds benefit the many
youth of our community.
