HomeMy WebLinkAboutII (B) Proclamation National Public Works Week Agenda 5-21-2002 Item II B Proclamation WHEItEAS. public works services provided in our community are .m integral part of Our citizens' everyday lives;and WHEREAS, the support of an understanding and informed citizenry is vital to the efficient operation of public works systems and programs such as streets and highways, public buildings,solid waste collection,parks and canal maintenance,and WHEREAS, the health, salty, and minion of this community greatly depends On these facilities and services;and WHEREAS. the quality and effectiveness of these frcili ties, as well as their planning, design and const nmli on, is vitally dependent upon the efforts and skill of public works officials;and WHEREAS, the efficiency of the qualified and dedicated personnel who staff public works departments is materially influenced by the people's attitude and understanding of the importance of the work they perform. WHEREAS, this year's theme "IVorking in the Public Interest,' is a tribute to the positive improvements public works employees have node to our worn In iti es. NOW, THEREFORE, I, S.
