The attached sheets provide estimates and descriptions of the two methods. Method one is an ongoing lease with Florida Power. Method two is by the City purchasing the lights and hiring a contractor to install them. • • • 44 R b., ii 4+• 3 4 • • ' _ j w4 5.- ,r,,,-A ' - A j(.•• , , . y .w.: r u ? ; y 1 1 t,,.• a" • J ',l y 1 • 4. Florida Power will perform all the engineering, electrical service work, purchase and install the lights and maintain the lights for a total up front cost of$4,463. The City would pay this amount one time and a recurring monthly lease fee of$675. The monthly lease fee includes all maintenance and electricity for the lights. The proposal is based on installing 21 lights along Lakeshore Drive from the north end of the sidewalk(fountain) to the south end of the sidewalk(Lafayette St.). The light poles arc20 feet tall with a 175 watt metal halide fixture (photo attached). The Contractor estimate is based on the City purchasing the lights by piggy backing on the Zephyr Hills contract with Antique Street Lamps Inc. The City would contract with Florida Power to perform the electrical service work and contract with an electrical contractor to install the lights. The proposal is based on installing approximately 30 lights in the same area. The light poles are 12 feet tall with a 100 watt HID fixture (photo attached). The estimated values were arrived at by the following methodology: Engineering-This is the cost of the required design and engineering work. Florida Power will waive this cost. Electrical Service-This is the cost of the electrical work required to remove the old street lights, overhead wiring and install new underground electrical service points for the new lights. Florida Power must perform this work. Florida Power will waive the cost, $9,100, if the City signs their proposed lease agreement. The City would have to pay Florida Power this amount if the lights are purchased by the City and installed by another contractor. Installation - This is the cost of installing the lights with the necessary underground conduit, wire and connection to the electrical service. Lights-This is the cost to purchase the poles, fixtures, lamps and reflectors. Florida Power will waive the cost of the lights, approximately$30,000, if the City signs their proposed lease agreement. Total Up Front- This is the summation of the four above costs for each of the proposed methods. Monthly- This is the recurring monthly cost for the lights for each of the proposed method. Florida Power's monthly lease payment, S675, includes the lights, all maintenance and electrical power. The contract cost of$100 is for electrical power only.
