RE: USAGE OF BUILDING BY OCOEE AMERICAN LEGION POST 109
Dear Mayor;
V,/e, the members of Ocoee American Legion Post 109 request the City of Ocoee
governing body grant the Post usage of the unoccupied building sometimes
known as the Dr. Scott Office Building as a meeting and service center.
Currently the Post is using a 6 feet by 10 feet room in the Post Office strip mall
for membership meetings and space in the Ocoee City Hall as a Legion service
center.
In the case of any contractual agreement between the city and the Legion Post
which would continue for an indefinite period of time or period of years as shall
be agreed upon, the Post would be obligated to maintain the facility as needed.
The American Legion makes no distinction on the grounds of religion, sex, race,
color or national origin. The basic requirement for membership is having served
as a member of one or more of the Armed Services of the United States of
America.
I and/or a committee of Legion members would be happy to meet with you and
the City Commissioners.
We appreciate your consideration of this request.
Respectfully submitted;
Ed. C. bower
