OCOEE 2002 TENNIS PLAYERS OF THE YEAR Item II B
The Tennis Players of the Year award is presented by The City of Ocoee Parks
& Recreation Department to an outstanding male and female player that
participates in the Ocoee Tennis Academy. The selection is based on hard
consistent training, dedication, commitment, success and sportsmanship
representing the City of Ocoee in the sport of tennis.
After three years of presentation, the fourth year recipients are highly
recommended and qualified. These individuals are both honor students, multi
sport athletes and top players at their respective high schools. They have been
exclusively trained in Ocoee since the tennis program began in 1993. Both
players have held solid rankings on the USTA Tennis Tournament circuit and
earned state recognition for their success, thus drawing attention to our well
established tennis program.
The tennis players have served on the committee for the Ocoee Community
Tennis Association and gave their personal time freely to help teach others in
the community, giving back to the sport they love. They have also both
worked together on the professional tennis tour with coach Vinson.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! The 2002 Ocoee Tennis players of the year!
