MEMORANDUM TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners
FROM: Wanda Horton, Finance Director.
/W:1-Fran Diedrich, Human Resources Director
DATE: October 1, 2002
SUBJECT: City Managers Salary
In connection with the approved budget and conditions in Section 3 C. of the City
Manager's contract, we are advising that the City Manager's annual salary will be
$100,425.00 effective October 1, 2002, based on the three percent (3%) COLA
approved in the budget process for all City employees.
As a "contractual" employee, the City Commission sets the terms and conditions of
employment for the City Manager. In an effort to facilitate future hiring processes and to
provide ease of administration for the Commission when determining pay adjustments,
we recommend establishing a pay range for the position of City Manager. After a
review of municipalities with similar populations we are proposing a pay range with a
range minimum of$70,912.40 annually and a range maximum of$111,464.19 annually.
If approved, pay grade 30 will be added to the City's salary scale effective October 1,
2002.
