Subject: Mid-Year Purchase of 4 Vehicles Price Increase
Background Summary:
In June 2019, the City Commission approved the Police Department to purchase three (3) marked
police utility vehicles at a cost of $40,000 each and one (1) community service aide utility vehicle at
$32,000 with existing police impact fees. A price increase in the vehicles was realized during the
procurement process. This request is being brought before the Commission for approval of the
additional expenditure of $16,000 from police impact fees.
Issue:
Should the Honorable Mayor and Board of City Commissioners approve the additional expenditure, not
to exceed $16,000 for the previously approved purchase of three police vehicles and one community
service aide vehicle for the Police Department utilizing police impact fees?
Recommendations:
Staff recommends the Honorable Mayor and Board of City Commissioners approve the additional
expenditure for the previously approved Mid-Year Purchase of Vehicles.
Financial Impact:
Increased cost of purchasing these vehicles, $16,000 will be paid from police impact fees. There is
sufficient funding to cover this expenditure without any impact to the Department's current budget.
