RE: Transfer of Funds
ISSUE
The Manager's assigned vehicle was "totaled" in an accident not attributable to the driver of the
City vehicle. It has been proposed that the City Manager receive a reasonable auto allowance of
$600 per month for fiscal year 2003/04. To allow for a vehicle for the remainder of this fiscal
year, we are requesting approval for$1,200 to be transferred from the City's contingency
account to the City Manager's Department to fund an auto allowance for the Manager for the
remainder of the Fiscal Year.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The City Manager's employment agreement provides for an assigned vehicle including
insurance premiums and expenses relating to the vehicle maintenance.
RECOMMENDATION
Based on operational need, we would recommend approval of this request.
