RE: Amend Chapter 78 of Code of Ordinances
ISSUE
Should the Honorable Mayor and City Commission adopt Ordinance 2003-60 to amend Chapter
78 of the Code of Ordinance?
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The Fire Department currently performs reviews of all pertinent building plans and specifications
for commercial structures and residential site developments. There has been a significant
increase in the amount and complexity of these plans requiring additional man-hours to perform
these reviews. The Fire Department has also reviewed surrounding municipalities and the fees
that are charged to recover the proper costs to cover the labor expenses involved in the review
process.
It is requested that the following changes be considered for approval:
1. Increase the plans review fee from 1/2 to 3/4 of 1%of the value of the
construction.
2. Establish a multi-family and single-family residential site plan review fee based
on the following schedule:
0-60 lots or units $250.00
61 to 150 lots or units $350.00
151 or more lots or units $450.00

2003-60 and amend Chapter 78 of the City Code.
