RE: Street Lighting for Ocoee Crown Point PUD—Phase 1
ISSUE
Should the City Commission approve the expenditure of funds for the installation of the street
lights for the Ocoee Crown Point PUD phase 1 development.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The construction of the phase 1 of the infrastructure for the Ocoee Crown Point PUD and the
new high school is proceeding as scheduled. As the developer,the City is responsible for the
installation of the street lights within the road right-of-way.
Staff has worked with Progress Energy on the layout and cost associated with the lighting
installation. With work proceeding as planned,the projected installation needs to be scheduled
after the utility installations and road building is near completion.
The cost for the installation of street lighting is$11,368.21 and includes the fixtures in
accordance with the Land Development Code for commercial complexes. The funds to pay for
these street lights will come from the Ocoee Crown Point PUD project fund. This cost will be
shared by Orange County Public Schools based upon our agreement for our mutual projects.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Mayor and City Commission approve the expenditure of$11,368.21
for street lights within the Ocoee Crown Point PUD phase 1 project area.
