Parker,District 4 STAFF REPORT TO: The Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners FROM: Jean Grafton, City Clerk DATE: May 24, 2004 RE: Appointment to Human Relations/Diversity Board (2-year terms) (Members must be legal residents of the City) ISSUE Should the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners appoint Dr. Frann Kelley Rodriguez to the Human Relations/Diversity Board (HRDB)? BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION On September 16, 2003, City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2003-21 establishing the Human Relations/Diversity Board and adopting By-Laws for the board. The Resolution provides that HRDB membership shall consist of no less than seven(7) members and no more than fifteen(15)members. On May 4, 2004, the City Commission had initial appointments for the HRDB in which they appointed four(4)members and on May 18, 2004, another member was added making a total of five(5)members appointed. BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION Currently the Education Commission has seven(7) members and their Resolution allows no less than seven(7) members and no more than fifteen(15) members. Should the City Commission appoint Jim Conklin to the Education Commission he would serve a two-year term ending on June 1, 2006.
