For The Record 10-15-2019 City of Ocoee Commission Meeting Chris Adkins - 606 Ridgefield Ave, Ocoee F'L, 34761 I ask this commission to take up discussion in regards to a Budget for the Ocoee Founders Day Event. It is imperative that the taxpayers see full transparency and have accountability when it comes, to the use of: our money. This Financial statement or Budget should be on the record and for the taxpayers to see wr,ithen 30 days from the end of the event. It should include all expenses and income regarding the event. it should also include the financial burden on the Police -Fire and Parks and Rec Dept. payroll. Currently, the most recent Budget and Budgets of the past lack transparency for the taxpayer. There; is no specific mention of any form of income generated by this event. The only mention in the entire budget is in the form of two expense line items. In addition to the Commission voting for 400k in entertainment coss3 (not specifically reflected in the budget) Puts the Ocoee Taxpayers on the Hook for $518,500 i expenses just to begin. I So, it seems only fare that the city reflects income and all expenses to the taxpayer. That this should be available for taxpayers to see, and on the record. Accountability and transparency should not be optional.
