He stated that once the department has received both units, it should round out the fleet, allowing for two engines in reserve. Ocoee Fire Station 38 is currently operating out of leased space in the Publix West Road shopping center, and the current lease is due to expire on January 1s`with no option to renew. However, there is public bid out for the build of a new station which would be located directly behind the Taco Bell on West Rd.Additionally, there will most likely be a need to have a temporary structure/building to be used in the interim, as there will be a gap between the lease ending and the finished building. He briefly spoke about the Emergency Operations Center(EOC)that is located at Ocoee Fire Station 25 for hurricane season. This center is operational during hurricanes to monitor the storm,be available to the public via phone hotline, and render aid when it is safe to do so.
