A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA,
CHANGING THE NAME OF HOBSON ROAD TO NORTH
CLARKE ROAD; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO
PROVIDE NOTICE OF THE CHANGE TO CERTAIN
PARTIES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the name, "North Clarke Road," is the platted name of a segment of
that certain street in the City of Ocoee, Florida, located within the recorded plats of Kensington
Manor Subdivision, Plat Book 56, Page 92; McCormick Reserve Phase One Subdivision, Plat
Book 87, Page 111; and Arden Park Phase 4 Subdivision, Plat Book 100, Page 136; and
WHEREAS, the name, "Hobson Road," is the name of a segment of that certain
street in the City of Ocoee, Florida, between Trout Lake Road and Clarcona Ocoee Road; and
WHEREAS, the Ocoee Land Development Code states that "New streets which
are an extension of or in alignment with existing streets shall bear the same name as that borne
by such existing streets;" and
WHEREAS, the City desires to assign the same street name to the street
segments that will connect the existing segments of North Clarke Road between McCormick
Road and Clarcona Ocoee Road.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authority. The City Commission of the City of Ocoee has the authority to
adopt this resolution pursuant to Article VIII of the Constitution of the State of Florida and
Chapter 166, Florida Statutes.

Section 2. Renaming of Hobson Road. The street segment presently named Hobson
Road, as described above, is hereby renamed and designated as "North Clarke Road." The result
is a continuity of the name, "North Clarke Road," from Clarcona Ocoee Road to McCormick
Road.
Section 3. Further Acts; Notice. The City Commission of the City of Ocoee hereby
authorizes the Mayor, the City Clerk, and other City staff to execute any documents and take
such other actions as may be necessary to effectuate the designations referenced in Section 2,
above. Without limiting the forgoing, the City Clerk is hereby directed to provide notice of the
adoption of this resolution to all affected property owners, the United State Postal Service,
Orange County Property Appraiser's Office, Orange County Tax Collector's Office, Orange
County Emergency Services, and other relevant entities.
Section 4. Severability. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of
this resolution is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent
jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision and
such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion hereto.
Section 5. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
passage and adoption.
