(bir April 29, 1992
The meeting was called to order at 9: 25 a.m. by chairman, Paul
Lewis. All board members were present except Joyce Oliver,and a
quorum was determined. Also present were Lee Dehner, Dan Dy and
Peggy Psaledakis.
The minutes were approved as presented.
Lee Dehner reported that he had obtained a tax number for the board
( 59-3119085 ) .
The chairman signed the Proxy, Investment Agreement and Custody
Agreement at the board' s direction.
A motion was made by Judy, seconded by Jean that Loyd Bowen and Ray
Jernigan be paid their retirements. Motion carried 4-0.
A discussion was held regarding those employees who were laid off.
Lee advised the board that, because they were on lay off status and
not terminated, they would not be eligible to receive their
contributions back until the end of the 6 months lay off time.
Judy was instructed to write those employees letters explaining the
situation. They would be eligible to receive their contributions
back if they chose to be terminated - this would be done through
Personnel .
The board will instruct Personnel to get a receipt of the Summary
Plan Description for any new employees. The Summary Plan
Description was adopted by a motion from Tanya, seconded by Jean,
4-0.
A discussion continued from the last meeting with regard to Board
rules. Lee will present a draft at the June 3rd meeting.
The next meeting was set for June 3 , 1992 , 10: 00 a.m.
The board, by unanimous decision, voted to send all board members
to the FPPTA Annual Conference at the Grosvenor Hotel from July 5 ,
1992 , through July 8 , 1992 . This is part of their continuing
education required by the rules .
Judy was instructed to contact Ward to print early retirement
figures for all employees. She was also instructed to contact
Brown and Brown Insurance to be sure the auto liability carried by
the city will cover board members while they attend conferences and
seminars.
The meeting was adjourned at 11 : 20 .
