The Police Department would like to move forward with both radio purchases, not to exceed the budgeted amount. Issue: Should the Honorable Mayor and Board of City Commissioners authorize the purchase of 9 new portable radios and 9 replacement portable radios in budget year 2020-2021, not to exceed the budgeted amount? Recommendations: Staff recommends the Honorable Mayor and Board of City Commissioners authorize the purchase of 9 new portable radios and 9 replacement portable radios in budget year 2020-2021, not to exceed the budgeted amount. Attachments: Quote for 9 new Motorola Radios and 9 Replacement Radios Financial Impact: There is no financial impact to the City. The approved 2020-2021 budget included $58,500 for 9 new portable radios in Police Impact Fund and $58,500 for 9 replacement portable radios out of General Fund. The estimated cost for the 9 new radios is $46,248.12. The estimated cost for the 9 replacement radios is $43,998.12. This equipment is consistent with current City of Ocoee radio communication products, as well as,the Orange County radio network, and designed and supplied exclusively by Motorola Solutions. Orange County radio services utilize software, hardware, and services specific to Motorola for operations and programming. This letter confirms that the components of this Project 25 system are sole-source items and may only be purchased through the factory direct Motorola sales department.
