Contact Name: Michael Rumer One -Department Director: Contact Number: Ext. 1018 City Manager: Subject: Preliminary/Final Subdivision Name Change Ciara Place at Lake Meadow to Lake Meadow Landing Commission District #4 — George Oliver III Michael Ru Robert FraU Background Summary: The Ciara Place at Lake Meadow Preliminary/Final Subdivision Plan was approved by the City Commission on May 18, 2018. The final plans were approved by City Staff for construction on April 14, 2020, after going through a series of minor revisions. Ultimately, the applicant for the project decided not to go forward and sold the property and approved plans to David Weekly Homes. On December 2, 2020, David Weekly formally requested the change of name from Ciara Place at Lake Meadow to Lake Meadow Landing. Per Section 4-4(G)(7) of the City's Land Development Code: Subdivision Name. Every subdivision shall be given a name by which it shall be legally known. All subdivision signage must be consistent with its legally assigned name. Such name shall not be the same, phonetically, or visually similar to any name appearing on any recorded plat in the County so as to confuse the records or to mislead the public as to the identity or location of the subdivision, except when the subdivision is subdivided as an additional unit or section by the same developer or his successors in title. No subdivision name shall mislead the public as to the municipality or geographic area in which the subdivision is located. The name of the subdivision shall be determined by the developer, and subject to review by the Development Review Committee, and approval by the City Commission as part of the Preliminary Subdivision Plan. If at anv time, the developer, intends_ to change the name of the subdivision, the developer shall request the name change in writing All correspondence regarding a name change shall be sent to the Planning Director who shall make a recommendation to the Development Review Committee, who shall make a recommendation to the City Commission. The decision of the City Commission is final. After approval by the City Commission, it shall be the responsibility of the developer to make the appropriate changes to all applicable document and reference the previous subdivision name on all correspondence for three (3) months following the name change. The provision of this subsection shall be applicable in all zoning districts, including planned unit developments. Issue: Should the Honorable Mayor and City Commission approve a subdivision name change for the Ciara Place at Lake Meadow to Lake Meadow Landing? Development Review Committee Recommendation: The Development Review Committee met on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, and voted to recommend approval of the Subdivision name change. Recommendations: Staff recommends the Honorable Mayor and City Commission approve a subdivision name change for the Ciara Place at Lake Meadow subdivision to Lake Meadow Landing.
