(Public Works Director Krug) Background Summary: The City traditionally purchases equipment through various competitively bid annual contracts. Public Works has researched pricing and has found the Florida Sheriffs Association and Sourcewell bid contract continues to provide the lowest competitively bid pricing for equipment utilizing competitively bid contracts. The approved budget includes the following equipment purchases, priced through Sourcewell (National Auto Fleet Group) and the Florida Sheriff’s Association bid contracts: 2 Portable Light Towers @ $11,315.20 + Freight = $23,880.40 (Recreation - New) 1 Hamm HD12 Double Drum Roller @ $45,710.80 (Streets - New) 1 Cargo Mate Medium Duty Cargo Trailer @ $10,901 (Recreation - New) 1 Caterpillar 416 Backhoe Loader @ $121,880 (Stormwater - Replacement) Public Works would also like approval to surplus Stormwater's existing 2005 Case 580 backhoe, to serve as a trade-in to receive a discount on its replacement Caterpillar backhoe listed above. Public Works recommends approval for the trade-in, and to purchase the above equipment based on published pricing for the 2022/2023 term contracts from Sourcewell and the Florida Sheriff’s Association. Issue: Should the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners approve the acquisition of the budgeted 2022/2023 equipment purchases and the surplus of the 2005 Case 580 backhoe to use as a trade in on the new equipment?
