Regular Meeting Held May 26, 2022
CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Garone called the meeting to order at 7* 11 PM, in the Commission Chambers of Ocoee
City Hall, located at 150 N. Lakeshore Drive in Ocoee, FL.
Chairperson Garone led the Invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Recording Clerlc Maldonado
called roll and determined there was no quorum present.
PRESENT
Chairperson Garone, and Members Brown, Lewis and Braunskill
Also present: Commissioner Brinson, Chief Plasencia, Sergeant Prince, City Clerk Sibbitt, and
Recording Clerk Maldonado
ABSENT
Members Ball, Holt, and Meeks
DISCUSSION
Chairperson Garone opened the discussion on questions the Board had about the requirements to be a
member. City Clerk Sibbitt recalled per prior meeting minutes that the members had questions and
concerns about the Bylaws and invited Chief Plasencia to attend and answer some of these questions.
Chief Plasencia, Sergeant Prince and City Clerk Sibbitt addressed questions related to Section 7B,
Article 6, Article 3, establishing a quorum, potentially combining the CACOPD with the CACOFD,
Board members being invited to Police Department events, and the Treasurer position.
Chairperson Garone requested a special meeting for June 23rd to carry forward specific agenda items
for discussion.
DEPARTMENT UPDATES/UPCOMINGFVENT
Sergeant Prince updated the Board on recent events and stated several programs are resuming
including: Restorative Justice, Citizens Police Academy, and Coffee with A Cop. For all future events
the Board would be invited to participate.
